Louisiana Roots - California Style
A New Orlean's themed restaurant, Gulf Coast Grill, was breaking into the San Diego Restaurant scene and needed a fresh interpretation of their brand, rather than rely on the stock paper featuring a tea-stained, curled up document to feature their menu.
I came up with free-hand illustrations with scenes depicting what time of the day it was. These loose illustrations were meant to convey the vibrant, dance-like movement one would experience during a New Orleans Mardi-Gras. Rich, jewel-tones were selected for the menus as Louisiana is also known for their bold color choices.
