Yesterday's New Vintage
Repurpose for a purpose...
My good friend and I wanted to explore our entrepreneurial side and start a vintage clothing company. Instead of just selling cute apparel and accessories, we wanted to give a purpose behind our business and tie it to a good cause. The resulting idea was that a percentage of our sales would be offered to a different charity each month; we were tackling two do-gooder birds with one stone as we would be recycling fashion (thus eliminating the unnecessary waste that goes into producing new clothes) and contributing to different causes that were focused on bettering the world.
When focusing on the identity behind our brand, we definitely leaned toward a more feminine aesthetic with graceful lines and a warm color palette. Two birds symbolized our partnership as well as the dual-focused idea behind the brand. The name, itself, was chosen to show that what is old is new again and the campaign "I vintage" was to give the customers a sense of pride that they are making antique pieces modern fashion statements.
